Whether you’re a music enthusiast, comedy fanatic, or a lover of the arts, Central Tickets has you covered.

Central Tickets review

This is my personal Central Tickets review, I am in my early 30s and live in London. Why it suits me and my experiences since I joined.

I love this seat filling platform. I have been a member since 2018 and went to amazing shows thanks to CT (with 117 bookings so far). This said it’s not for everyone as the way to get tickets for the best show is to receive the newsletter and act fast if you see something you like. They send a LOT of newsletters, 2 to 6 emails per day. If you don’t like spam or don’t check your emails, you won’t be part of the game. I guess a lot of people get a bit tired of those emails. You can be a member and unsubscribe to the newsletter. However, I doubt you will go check the website or app enough to get the value out of what they offer.

Also, one important thing to note is if your account is inactive (no booking for a long time) then they will cut you off for new users.

On the opposite, if you are a good member with regular booking, you will be added to the “Top Member Alert“.

“We have secured an exclusive discount for Central Tickets members for […] As one of our Top Members, you are being given first chance to book these tickets ahead of wider promotion to the general database.”

So CT reward good members. The last show I went to yesterday (at the time of writing) was a dance show with front row tickets. I took 2 friends with me and we loved it. It was a great start for our Friday night and then we head out for a snack and drink.

I nearly always have excellent seats, close to the stage, with a great view. It happened maybe once or twice that the seats were not good (ie: restricted view at the theatre). This said, for the price paid, I can’t complain.

The best event I have been to

My “best” tickets were: Kaleidoscope Festival, Bat Out of Hell the Musical, Pink Oktoberfest, Tap Dogs at Peacock Theatre, Barely Methodical Troupe: SHIFT, Musical Bingo, Citadel Music Festival, Aladdin & The Feast of Wonders – An Immersive Experience, The Great Gatsby – Immersive Theatre Experience, 360 ALLSTARS, The Prince of Egypt Musical, Snake Oil Immersive Music Night – Christmas Edit, Lextempus: Multisensory Music Experience, La Clique, Mulan Rouge – incl. 4-course meal, Chineke! Orchestra: Symphonic Celebration, Grease the Musical, The Witches Of Oz (incl. 4-course meal),

Except for the shows including meals at £20 (amazing value) the rest were usually £6.5 per ticket. So cheaper than a pint nowadays for some musical or immersive theatre!

Some events can be £10 or £15, it’s always a great offer.

I go to stand-up comedy, theatre, and music shows (jazz, etc). I went to a couple of day festivals (tickets at the normal price were around £50). One time, we even went to a red-carpet movie premiere in Leicester Square. The film was terrible, but the overall experience was fun.

They have a section where I also booked West End Offers (normal price) those you will find on all platforms like Todaytix, Theatre Direct, etc. We went to see Sister Act or the new Guys & Dolls – Standing & Stage Area when my fiends were visiting. The “show” part of the website is what you want.

The newsletter – if you see something you like, book fast

On one hand you need to book from CT only if you are sure to attends to the event, but on the other hands it happened many times to me to see something, ask friends if they want to join. And by the time they get back to me (usually with a yes answer) the event is sold out. So my best advice if you see something you really want to go to, book it as soon as you see it.

They send a lot of emails each day. You can choose to unsubscribe at any time.

Ticket collection

Events can have a different collection.

Box office

Sometimes you show your email confirmation at the box office

“Collect your tickets directly from the Box Office, no later than 30 minutes before the event begins. Show your booking confirmation email (either on your phone, or a print out) and explain that you have booked via Central Tickets. Accept the seats that you are given without complaint.”

Or tickets will be sent to you

E-tickets received by email

“Please present each separate e-ticket for each guest within your group (in this PDF attachment) to be scanned at the venue for entry. Please be prepared by having your tickets ready. You will need to show each of these tickets, which will be scanned to allow you to enter the event.”

Collect your tickets from a Rep

For big shows and musical, you might need to collect your ticket in a location near the venue

“Please note earlier start time of 7pm. Collect your tickets from a Rep – The rep will be inside […] between 6pm-6.45pm – please have your PDF confirmation ready and do not be late. Do not go to the Box Office under any circumstances.”

For Online events you receive a link on the day a few hours before the event

“Please use the link below to access the online event you’ve booked”

Free tickets

Sometimes you will receive coupon code for free tickets. It’s often for talks on Zoom run by How to Academy. I assisted to a few great talks.

“Only book free tickets if you are certain to attend. These tickets cannot be cancelled, and non-attendance results in withdrawal of membership. FREE Tickets on site now – use voucher code […] to book your free tickets.”

After the event

After each event you attends you will receive a short survey link “Can we ask you to spare a moment to give some feedback, please?   Your feedback is really valuable and we’d really appreciate it.”
