Which is better depends on how much you’re selling:

So, if your first eligible trade is under £50, the £5 referral offer is worth more. At £50 they’re equivalent, while above £50 the 10% WELCOME10 offer becomes more valuable.

I would therefore choose whichever offer gives you the better bonus rather than expecting to receive both.

Is there a minimum trade?

World of Books’ standard rules are slightly confusing because different pages currently describe the normal minimum differently. Its formal terms state a minimum trade of 10 items and £5 total item value, while parts of its website describe it as 10 items or £5.

For the referral offer, the important thing is to follow the conditions displayed with your referral reward and make sure the eligible value remains at least £10.

What condition do my books need to be in?

World of Books checks items after they arrive.

I wouldn’t send a rare, signed or potentially valuable book without checking its value elsewhere first.

For ordinary books that you simply want to clear out, the service is more appealing because convenience is the main advantage.

Will I get more money selling books elsewhere?

Possibly.

If you have a valuable textbook, recent release, box set or collectible book, check what it’s worth elsewhere before accepting the offer. Selling it individually could get you more money.
