What is Gigaclear?
Gigaclear is a UK broadband provider specialising in Full Fibre broadband, particularly in rural and underserved communities.
Full Fibre is also known as FTTP, or Fibre to the Premises.
Instead of relying on an old copper telephone line for the final part of your connection, fibre runs directly to your property.
That’s particularly attractive if you live somewhere that has historically had poor broadband speeds.
My Gigaclear review
For me, the biggest appeal of Gigaclear is straightforward: fast Full Fibre broadband and less worrying about buffering or a slow connection.
It’s particularly interesting if you work from home, stream a lot of 4K content, download large files or have several people and devices connected simultaneously.
As I spend a lot of time online for work, having a fast and reliable connection is particularly important to me.
I’ll keep this review updated as I spend more time using the service.

Gigaclear speeds
Gigaclear offers several Full Fibre speed tiers, with packages currently reaching up to around 900Mbps, depending on what’s available at your address.
Current packages can include speeds around:
- 300Mbps
- 600Mbps
- 900Mbps
Availability and promotional pricing vary by postcode, so I’d recommend checking your address rather than relying on a headline price you’ve seen advertised.
Also remember that advertised broadband speeds generally relate to a wired connection. Your actual Wi-Fi speed can be affected by your router position, the size and construction of your home, your device and how far you are from the router.
Is Gigaclear good?
So far, my impression is positive, but it’s worth looking beyond any single review before committing to an 18-month broadband contract.
Gigaclear currently has an Excellent rating on Trustpilot, with a score of around 4.8 out of 5 from more than 40,000 reviews at the time of writing.
A lot of recent positive reviews mention:
- Helpful engineers
- Good customer service
- Fast problem resolution
- Reliable internet once installed
- Good broadband speeds
However, there are negative experiences too.
Some customers report:
- Installation delays
- Problems getting Wi-Fi throughout larger homes
- Customer service delays
- Significant price increases when promotional contracts end
That’s why I’d compare both the introductory price and the expected price after your minimum term before signing up.
Gigaclear prices: Watch what happens after your contract
This is probably one of the most important things to know before joining.
Gigaclear frequently runs attractive introductory deals for new customers, but these prices don’t necessarily continue indefinitely.
Current Gigaclear offers generally have an 18-month minimum term.
After that introductory period, your package can revert to the prevailing standard price for existing customers.
For example, Gigaclear’s September 2026 terms currently list standard prices after the minimum term of:
- 300Mbps: £51/month
- 600Mbps: £63/month
- 900Mbps: £88/month
These prices can change, so check the exact terms displayed when you order.
I’d recommend putting a reminder in your calendar shortly before your minimum term ends so you can check your renewal options rather than simply allowing the contract to continue without reviewing the price.
What is Gigaclear installation like?
Because Gigaclear is Full Fibre, your property needs a fibre connection.
If Gigaclear has already connected your property, installation may be relatively straightforward.
If not, an engineer may need to complete work to bring the fibre connection into your home and install the necessary equipment.
This is one area where customer experiences vary. Many reviews praise Gigaclear engineers and installations, while others report delays or issues getting a new connection completed.
If you’re switching from another provider, I wouldn’t cancel your existing broadband prematurely. Make sure you understand when your Gigaclear service is expected to go live first.
Gigaclear pros and cons
Pros
- Full Fibre connection directly to your property
- Speeds up to around 900Mbps
- Particularly useful in rural areas
- Strong customer reviews overall
- Good option for working from home
- Fast enough for streaming, gaming and large downloads
- £40 Amazon voucher available through the referral offer
Cons
- Not available everywhere
- Installation may be required
- Some customers report installation delays
- Wi-Fi performance still depends on your home and equipment
- Prices can increase substantially after introductory deals end
- Referral offer can’t be combined with certain other promotions
Gigaclear vs BT, Virgin Media and other broadband providers
I wouldn’t choose a broadband provider based solely on the £40 Amazon voucher.
The important comparison is what Gigaclear can actually offer at your address.
If you’re somewhere with limited traditional broadband infrastructure, Gigaclear Full Fibre could offer a huge speed improvement.
If you already have access to Full Fibre from BT/Openreach, Virgin Media or another alternative network, compare:
- Monthly price
- Average download speed
- Upload speed
- Minimum guaranteed speed
- Contract length
- Installation costs
- Router and Wi-Fi equipment
- Price after the introductory period
- Exit fees
The £40 Amazon voucher should be viewed as an extra bonus once you’ve decided Gigaclear is a good choice for your home.
Gigaclear referral FAQs
What is the Gigaclear referral code?
Gigaclear’s current referral programme works through a personal referral link rather than a traditional code.
You can use mine here:
https://r.gigaclear.com/denisb-1893n
What do new Gigaclear customers get?
Eligible new customers currently receive a £40 Amazon.co.uk Gift Card after ordering through a referral invitation and meeting the promotion requirements.
When will I receive my £40 Amazon voucher?
Gigaclear states that the Amazon voucher will be sent by email 40 days after your service goes live, provided all referral conditions have been met.
Can I order Gigaclear first and use the referral afterwards?
Don’t do this.
You should register your email through the referral link before placing your order and use the same email address when purchasing your Gigaclear service.
Can existing Gigaclear customers get the £40 voucher?
The new customer side of the referral promotion is for someone who isn’t already a Gigaclear customer and is placing a new order or pre-order in a Gigaclear network area.
Can I combine the referral with another Gigaclear offer?
Not necessarily.
Gigaclear specifically excludes some promotions, including certain free introductory offers, from the referral programme.
Check the terms of the package you’re considering before ordering.
Is Gigaclear worth it?
If Gigaclear offers Full Fibre at your address and your existing broadband is slow or unreliable, it’s definitely worth comparing.
The combination of fast FTTP broadband, packages reaching around 900Mbps and the current £40 referral reward makes it particularly attractive in areas with fewer Full Fibre alternatives.
Just pay attention to the contract length and what your monthly price could become after the introductory period.
